If you’re in the Green Bay or Appleton area, you have the option of the summer farmers market coming to your door! It’s called CSA, or Community Supported Agriculture. And Moder’s is one of the first in the Green Bay area to offer the program, starting about 13 years ago.
The Farm Box is a 4 – 16-week delivery program that gets fresh produce delivered right to your door at home or at work. I tried the biggest box the first year Moder’s offered the subscription. I really liked it, but at the same time, I was getting 3 kohlrabi and a head of cabbage every week for about a month (along with many other useful veggies and fruits.) We don’t have a lot of cabbage fans in the house, and my mother and brother were happy to get what I couldn’t use, so I decided if I did the farm box again, I would order a smaller sized box.

What really appeals to me now is that you can now add stuff like bread and eggs to your order. I still find this a viable way of supporting local farmers without having to walk a summer farmers market. And yes, during Strawberry season, they are included in your farm box.
Delivery is available to the Greater Green Bay and Greater Appleton Area
