Local author Sawyer Cole Hobson and more will be on hand for the Soul Purpose Book Fair coming up in a few weeks! I’ve been waiting for an author event with them that fit my schedule. I had the opportunity to read Hobson’s book, Coming Home, a few years ago, and I’ve been a fan ever since (you can read that review here.) They are trans/nonbinary, and their book takes the reader through growing up in the South as well as how they became a Wisconsinite with their found family. You can find them on Bookstagram and Threads as @ColesBookNook.

- Who: Sawyer Cole Hobson
- What: Book Signing/Meet the Author
- When: March 14, 2026; 1 – 2p
- Where: Soul Purpose, inside Bay Park Square Mall (next to
Kohl’s)
The book fair at Soul Purpose runs from 1p – 4p that day as well. You can also meet authors Michelle LeBrun, Margaret Zenko, Jessica Lynn, and Jenny Von Der Ruhr.
I’ve been wanting to meet Hobson since I read their book because they have always been very open and honest about what it is like to be trans/nonbinary. They just went through some BIG changes in their life, and I hope I can finally get a chance to take my nonbinary child to meet them!
