Have You Ever Been to a Cat Cafe’? Wisconsin Has Several You Can Visit.

Some years ago, I read a book about a cat cafe in the UK and thought it was a great idea. Then I discovered that cat cafes are actually a thing and that you can find them here in the United States. Did you know that there are currently seven Cat Cafes in Wisconsin? Let’s take a closer look:

All the cafes listed below have adoptable cats. Some encourage reservations, while others flat-out insist upon them.

AppletonThe Pawffee Shop, 1745 N Casaloma Drive. All of the cats in the cafe are available to adopt through Green Bay’s Safe Haven Pet Sanctuary Saturdays are so busy that it’s recommended you make a reservation. There is a $4 Reservation Fee, which gets donated to Safe Haven.

Eau Claire Miss Kitty’s Cat Cafe & Boutique, 502 S. Farwell Street. This cafe just celebrated their 2nd anniversary! You can make reservations for the cat lounge, ranging in price from $12.66 to $15.83 per person. There’s also a party room available to rent, which sounds really cool! Miss Kitty’s works alongside the Eau Claire County Humane Association.

Milwaukee – Sip and Purr Cafe, 833 E. Brady Street. Open since 2018, this cafe has rehomed more than 1600 cats! It’s recommended you make reservations for the Cat Lounge, which guarantees you one hour of cuddle time. Prices start around $16.48 with discounts on Wednesday and Fridays. All the cats here are adoptable.

Oshkosh Planet Perk and Planet Purrrk Club at City Center, 100 Suite C, City Center. The cafe has been around since the 1990s, but the cat addition is more recent. You can spend time with the kitties for Free if you make a $6 minimum per person purchase at the main cafe. If not, Adults cost $6.50 and anyone 13 and under are $3.50. Planet Purrrk even has a Study Hall for high school and college students who can use the space for schoolwork and cuddling the cats. All cats are adoptable through the Oshkosh Humane Society.

Sun Prairie The Cat’s Brew, 2414 Montana Avenue. You can reserve time with the kitties starting at $10/person. Children under 3 are not recommended to visit with the cats. All the cats are adoptable through Little Orphans Animal Rescue

Stevens Point Starry Night Cat Cafe,1141 Clark Street. You can make reservations to spend 45 minutes in the cat sanctuary, with prices between $8 – $12 per person. No shoes allowed, so make sure you have socks! Cats on site can be adopted through the Humane Society of Marathon County.

Whitewater – Barista Cats Cafe & Sanctuary for Wayward Cats, 135 West Center Street. This isn’t a full-blown cafe because the focus is on the cats, but you can get coffee and tea and they have prepackaged snacks. Reservations are required, and no one under the age of 10 is allowed in the sanctuary. Reserved spots start at $11.
