Earlier this summer, Natural Grocers, a family-owned business that is also a national grocery retailer, entered the Wisconsin market with a store in Lake Geneva. By the end of this month, their second store in Grand Chute is set to open.
The grocery chain, which started out as a Colorado-based company in 1955, now has more than stores and counting in 22 states. Natural Grocers is entering the Fox Valley market by offering a community-based grocery store with 100% organic produce, body care, vitamins, and nutrition education.
The Grand Chute location was the former home of Jo-Ann Fabrics (and right near Penzey’s Spices!) Find the Appleton, Wisconsin store just off Casaloma Drive and Integrity Way.
Natural Grocers has strict protocols on what can and cannot be sold in their stores. Items cannot contain do not contain artificial flavors, synthetic colors, preservatives, sweeteners, or partially hydrogenated or hydrogenated oils. The store also refuses to use single-use bags at checkouts, so that’s your reminder to bring your reusable bags.
The store will open its doors at 720 N. Casaloma Drive in late September. Their hours will be 8:27a – 8:36p Monday – Saturday and 8:57a – 7:36p Sundays.
I am very curious as to how similar Natural Grocers is to Fresh Thyme, which has several locations in Wisconsin including Ashwaubenon. The company promises affordable prices on their products. Fresh Thyme has a mix of organic/non-organic produce and doesn’t have as strict guidelines, but there are similarities in the stores.
