There are plenty of Earth Day celebrations going on this week, and I thought I’d highlight one of them. The Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary in Green Bay has a day of activities planned this coming Sunday.

- What: Earth Day Celebration
- When: April 26th, Noon – 4pm; Rain or Shine
- Where: Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary; 1660 E Shore Dr, Green Bay
- Cost: FREE (unless making a purchase) That’s a Bargain-Sleuth approved price!
Some of the many activities that day are definitely family friendly. They include:
- 12-4pm Exciting Enrichment: make something for wildlife in your yard in the Observation Building lobby
- Color pages in Observation Building lobby
- Paintings created by some of your favorite Animal Ambassadors for sale to support the Friends of Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary in the Observation Building lobby
- 12p-1p: Snake Celebration Observation Building– visit with our snake ambassadors
- 12n-1p: Otter Odyssey Woodland Building Otter Exhibit–learn more about our otters Renee and Ceasar! Watch the training and enrichment activities that our staff performs with these playful creatures!
- 12p-2p: Eyes on Owls Observation Building Raptor Theatre– get up-close with owl ambassadors including a Barred Owl, Eastern Screech Owl, Northern Saw-whet Owl, Great Horned Owl, Barn Owl and Long-eared Owl! Owls will rotate during event
- 1p-2p: Fox Trots Woodland Building Gray Fox Exhibit—see staff interact with training and enrichment for our fox Zorra
- 1p-2p: Terrific Turtles Observation Building– meet a box turtle, wood turtle, and painted turtle!
- 1:30p-2p: Wolf Feeding viewing at the Woodland Building Wolf Exhibit– talk with staff about the wolves and watch the Pack in action
- 2p-3p: Fabulous Falcons Observation Building Raptor Theatre– meet some falcon ambassadors including Peregrine Falcon, Merlin, and American Kestrel
- 2p-4p: Marvelous Mammals@Observation Building– many mammals will take turns and visit with public including our woodchuck, rabbit, porcupine, flying squirrels, bat and opossum
- 3p-4p: Talon Talks Observation Building Raptor Theatre– get up close with several birds of prey, including Victor the Vulture!
Capping off the day of events is the 4pm to release a red-tailed hawk back into the wild.
