I used to plan ahead a full year or more because my kids never had real huge growth spurts. I’d buy from The Children’s Place during their winter clearance and get my kids the matchy matchy stuff. But I also shopped Once Upon a Child for an extra coat in case a zipper failed. And I’d usually pick up a few more coats for the annual Coats for Kids collection.
