If you Shop the Pig in De Pere or Kaukauna, there will be some changes in the new year. The stores have been bought. The good news is that they’re staying Piggly Wiggly under the new ownership. This comes as their Little Chute store is scheduled to close November 7th.
Fox Brothers Piggy Wiggly is set to buy the De Pere and Kaukauna stores from StoneRidge Meat and Country Markets. StoneRidge bought the stores in 2018 from Larry’s Markets.

The decision to sell the stores is part of a refocusing of the business. “StoneRidge Meat and Country Markets decision to sell the stores, gives us more time to focus on the wholesale division production of snack sticks, sausage and other items produced out of the Wautoma facility,” StoneRidge president Duane Detjens said.
“We cannot be more excited to welcome the Kaukauna and De Pere stores into our family and we truly look forward to serving those communities for years to come,” Fox Bros. Piggly Wiggly president Mike Olwig stated.”We appreciate all that StoneRidge has done for these communities over the years as well as the Verhagen family before them, and we are excited to carry on that tradition of support and be an integral part of the community.
Fox Brothers Piggly Wiggly is an Employee-owned Company, which means the workers in De Pere and Kaukauna that decide to stay will also have a stake in the company. Fox Brothers Piggly Wiggly will introduce several new additions to the De Pere and Kaukauna stores, including their award-winning brats and sausage. I am very much looking forward to this.
The new ownership is scheduled to take effect Jan. 31.
Fox Brothers Piggly Wiggly currently has 11 other stores located in the Southeastern part of the state:
- Hartford
- Hartland
- Hubertus
- Jackson
- Oconomowoc
- Port Washington
- Slinger
- Saukville
- West Bend
